Just wanted to let you know that I found your Basic Photography Class very informative and enjoyable.  I learned more from you in 3 classes than I did a whole semester at my community college.  You did a great job presenting the information very clearly and made it easy to understand.  I hope to take additional classes from you in the near future.  I would appreciate if you would keep me informed regarding the list of classes below that I am interested in taking.

The class was great!  It was at the perfect level for my interest. Today I went to the photo store and bought a couple of filters as well as different types of film. Also bought a light meter just to play around with it. Taking photos will be fun, but I can see myself definitely getting hooked on darkroom techniques. The way you manipulated Ashley's portrait was amazing.Thanks, I really enjoyed the "basic photography" class and I'm interested in taking the advanced class.

I attended your photography class and found the information interesting and enlightening. I have been reviewing my notes as well as your notebook  and have been playing with my camera. I am looking forward to our next class. My husband and I have been talking about the possibility that my interest in photography would most likely increase with the education I receive from you. We have even talked about the possibility of someday putting a darkroom in our basement.

I really enjoyed the class! I can't wait to get my picture of Julia framed.

I thought the class was great. I think I would have liked going and taking pictures with you and getting your advice on setting the camera, composition, etc. I will consider a workshop.

I might also want to develop a couple of photos. I know it would be time consuming but I was so excited after seeing the final project, I wanted to do more!!!!

Overall, I think the class was great and very fun. I know we all had a great time.

Hello Dennis,

My daughter loves the photograph. I am still looking for a frame. I am quite pleased with how the photograph turned out.

I felt the class progressed smoothly. You certainly provided ample opportunity for questions. If you were to offer classes on individual subjects, such as landscape, portraits -  I would be interested in any or all of them.

You were a fantastic teacher. I enjoyed learning under your direction. Good luck with all of you endeavors and I look forward to working with you again soon.

It was very relaxed and I felt the amount of time allotted was in perfect harmony with the amount of information. Your teaching style helps to foster the want to know more.

I now have some of the tools to determine the quality of my negatives and how to work with both my negatives and (through test and work) prints make beautiful photographs.- with practice of course.  :

I really enjoyed the class. The only thing I would change is to make it longer! I would have liked to make more prints. The information on flash photography will be very helpful. Working in the darkroom was fun. I am eager to build my own darkroom so I can use all the info you taught in your class while it is still fresh.  The size of the class was just right. I enjoyed working with you as well as getting to know the others in the class.

The feedback during the printing was helpful. I really feel I've got a handle on how to make a "good" print and what a "good" negative should look like, but I realize I will need more practice. Toning was fun, too. I liked being able to take home a finished, matted print at the end of it all.

Hello Dennis

    I found the class to be very informative and useful. I think the handout packet was a vital component as it allowed me to 'study' the material in between classes. The range of topics (camera function to creative filter usage) was wonderful in that it allowed students with varying levels of experience to each gain some new knowledge. I did manage to gain some new  insights and techniques. I especially enjoyed the lessons on metering and creative lighting. To finally understand how to properly meter a scene and adjust settings according to the Zone system will change every photo I make from this day forward.

In terms of creative lighting, I think most of us have been frustrated at one point with the flat look from an automatic flash. Learning how to combine natural, tungsten and flash lighting to achieve a well lit photo was very helpful. Again, I found the class as a whole to be fantastic. I plan to recommend it to several of my friends who are also interested in photography. Thanks you for sharing your wisdom and experience. I am eagerly looking forward to the Darkroom class in March.

Dear Dennis,

 The class was very helpful to me.  Specifically the zones and how to use my camera manually.  Your booklet had a good amount of information.  I had forgotten a lot of what I learned in my photography class in my senior year.  

Your class has given me confidence and I really appreciated hearing the feed back you gave all of us after our assignments.  I think that really helps people when they actually make the pictures themselves.  I now know how to use my camera when it's not in AUTO mode.  Thank you.   I guess that just reveals my desire to learn more and to apply myself. 

I want to keep on shooting (hopefully) once a week and I will take you up on making contact sheets for at least one year.  I really learned from that.  And the slides were good too. 

It was very inspiring to be taught by someone who has such passion for his work.  So, keep on sharing what works for you and you will definitely be developing others to share in your passion.  Your dedication and faithfulness to your work has obviously blessed you and you are blessing others with your talent.
